Adult 50+ Show Camp
What is Adult 50+ Show Camp?
It is about involving men and women, ages 50 plus, in 25 hours of healthful, fun, active learning experiences, while preparing for a musical stage performance - "The Fabulous Forties!"
Why?
Our camp offers activities that will help maintain a youthful experience of life, as well as rejuvenate the aging brain while it continues to grow. These activities promise to aid in self-efficacy, the loss of which leads to stress and hardships as we age.
What activities?
- Singing classes require deep breathing, which sends more oxygen to the brain to reduce memory loss. The mental exercise of remembering words and music makes the brain more powerful and more efficient.
- Dancing classes provide exercise needed to create increased blood circulation to the mature brain. It may even improve balance that is so important for preventing accidents.
- Costume and theatrical make-up classes that put to use our creativity and insight that improve with age.
- Scenery design and props construction classes allows you to use inventiveness and resourcefulness, as well as helping to maintain dexterity which is crucial to being independent and taking care of one?s self.
Performance!
The culmination of the classes above, the performance of The Fabulous Forties! is the sharing of your personal and group camp accomplishments with family and friends. It will contribute to your self-confidence and self-esteem, and provide camaraderie that is vital for staying youthful. Plus, it's fun and invigorating!
