Show Camp For Teens and Tweens

Our mission is to involve young participants in cooperative activities that will nurture self-discipline, self-esteem, self-confidence, pride and teamwork, while promoting an experience of community and diversity within a safe, healthy and happy environment. Following classes, the Vaud-Villities Show Campers will display their achievements in a performance at Northland Park Arts Center for neighbors, families and friends.

To accomplish our mission, we offer the following curriculum:

Singing and Dancing

Students learn songs and dance routines that require focus, patience and cooperation while working as a team member. Students recognize their personal responsibility to practice and do their best for not only themselves, but for other members of their group and for their audience.

Set Construction

This structured hands-on experience requires decisions on how best to enhance the show setting. It allows creative self-expression, develops construction skills, and pride in visible personal achievement.

Costumes and Make-up

These classes teach students the impact of one's appearance both on stage and in real life. Students learn that appearance makes a statement of whom we are. The classes allow creativity and experimenting with various approaches and choices.

The Show

This is the short-term common goal for the camp participants. It is their time to proudly display their accomplishments, which were achieved thru self-discipline, practice, perseverance and cooperation with other participants, teachers and the neighborhood. Every student is a STAR in his or her exciting, colorful show.
